3D printing is noisy but not extremely noisy. The kind of noise 3D printers make now is similar to the noise computers made in the past, a series of whirrs and chirrups as the print head whizzes around squirting out its molten plastic. If you have a 3D printer next to your desk, you will be able to work without any distraction while it is printing and after a couple of minutes, no sound will be heard. But if your phone rings, you may want to go into another room to take the call.
